Pre-assembled Pump Stations

These are factory assembled ‘Box Columnless’ modules, comprising a junction box for multiple pipelines, with all necessary pumps, valves, power units and other fittings.

Installation of an entire pumping plant is almost as simple as “take it off the truck and drop it in the hole”.

Choose from these features:

  • Maximum use of gravity flow... pump only when necessary.

  • Blend water from multiple sources.

  • Regulate flow rates in all directions.

  • Water to or from any line.

  • Simultaneously pump and gravity flow, in different lines.

  • Diesel or Electric.

  • Two pumps allow selection from vastly different pumping rates.

  • Select from seven pump sizes, from 10 to 280 megalitres per day.

Batescrew pre-assembled pumping stations, comprising a pumping chamber and one or more valve chambers, are built in configurations to suit the site layout and any size constraints imposed by mode of transport.

Chambers are usually rectangular and arranged either in-line or in ‘L’ plan. Construction throughout is normally of 12mm mild steel plate, protected inside and out by epoxy coating. Experience indicates a thirty year service life can be expected. For unusually severe conditions fabrication can be in stainless steel Grade 316.

SUCTION CHAMBER

The large clearance around pump inlet allows gravity flow to bypass the pump.

QUOTATIONS

To quote on a pre-assembled pump station, Batescrew will need details of all relevant water and pipe levels, preferably from a Surveyors Whole of Farm Plan, together with the flow rates, both gravity and pumping, which you will require in the various directions.

FABRICATED BODY

  • Bodies are fabricated from 12mm MS plate.

  • Fully welded inside and out.

  • Ladder rungs are provided inside the box.

  • Stressed areas are reinforced and gusseted.

  • Lifting lugs provided outside the box.

  • Gated air vents are included.

  • Manhole covers sealed with 6mm gaskets.

  • Epoxy coated all over for 30 year service life.

  • Ladders and winding platforms are provided when handwheels exceed 900mm above deck.

Optional:  Bodies may be fabricated in stainless steel Grade 316.

  • PUMP

Batescrew single or multi-stage axial flow columnless pumps are fitted, each having a reflux valve to prevent reverse rotation when pumping stops.

Seven pump sizes are available, ranging in capacity from 10 to 280 megalitres per day.

  • PUMP DRIVE

Diesel or Electric drives are fitted, as specified by the customer.

INTERNAL VALVES

Galvanised High Head Valves are fitted to internal bulkheads. Bronze guide rollers, large stainless ‘Acme’ threads, ball thrust bearings, rubber seals, stainless seats and removable hand-wheels are standard.

We will need details of proposed drives, whether diesel or electric.  If an existing power plant is to be used, please advise Make, Model No. and power rating for continuous running.    For electric installations, details are needed of power   available   for   continuous running (kilowatts) and   whether the   supply   is   single   or   three phases.

Batescrew will normally recommend optimum pipe sizes for a proposed installation however, when existing lines are to be used, we will need to know the type and sizes of all pipes and their relative levels.

A simple sketch of the site layout is needed, showing the various outlets   and   any   other   special features.  A rough freehand sketch is adequate.
