These have  stainless steel inclined seats, dual pivoting lids and stainless main spindles with bronze bearings.  They are equipped for the various mounting options, as seen above.  A grease nipple is provided for lubrication of the main pivot.

Corrosion Resistance.  Normal construction is of mild steel, hot dip galvanised.  Stainless Steel, in grades 304L or 316L, may also be specified.

Cable Operation.  Flaps may be equipped with a lever, for cable operation..  The illustration shows an arrangement suitable for lifting from above. The shape of the lever supplied will be varied to suit the cable angle required.  It is necessary to indicate the approximate cable angle, or length and height dimensions, from valve to the operator position, when ordering.  Design of the linkage arm varies, throughout the size range, to suit the forces involved. 
GROUTED.  These match the inside diameter of Class 2 concrete pipe.   Keying lugs welded to the spigot have a slight clearance within the pipe and assist with aligning the valve while grout is applied.
WELDED.  A plain spigot, suitable for welding directly to steel pipelines or headwalls, pipe fittings, sumps, junction boxes etc.  Spigots match commonly available steel pipe, with outside diameters ranging from 317mm to 1841mm.  Larger sizes are made to order, as are ‘specials’ to fit non-standard pipes.
ROLLED FLANGE.  Rolled flanges offer a lower cost alternative to flanges complying with officially recognised standards.  They are rolled from flat mild steel bar and drilled for smaller bolts at closer than normal spacing.  There is a cost saving in both flange material and bolts.  This type of flange has been well proven and is suitable for use to ten metres operating head.  They will not connect to other industry standard flanges.
MODIFIED TABLE D FLANGE.  These provide connectability with other industry standard fittings, while reducing flange thickness and bolt size, to values more appropriate to the specified operating heads  They have the same Pitch Circle Diameter and number of bolts as specified in Australian Standard 2129 Table D.  Valves fitted with the modified flange may therefore be connected to other fittings which have regular table D flanges, using the smaller bolts listed in the valve dimension tables.
SQUARE FLANGE.  This is a common arrangement for attaching to headwall structures.  The  valve is sealed against the headwall, by a compressible gasket of bitumen impregnated polyurethane foam.  For attaching to concrete structures, we recommend the use of stainless steel chemical anchor bolts.
Each valve is supplied with an installation kit comprising:
   Gasket material, in 2M strips, contact adhesive.
   Square washers.
   Chemical anchor bolt kits, stainless nuts, instruction sheet.
   Masonry drill bit to suit anchor bolt capsules.
   Stainless chemical anchor bolt.

CHEMICAL ANCHOR BOLTS. 
For concrete structures, holes of 14mm diameter are drilled, to a depth of 110mm.  After cleaning the holes, glass capsules, containing the correct ratio of epoxy resins, are inserted.  These will be broken and mixed, when stainless studs are inserted.  Mixing should be in accordance with the instruction sheet supplied.  The flange may be used  as a drill guide, before fitting the gasket.

 

 GASKET MATERIAL

The gasket, attached with contact adhesive,  is  bitumen impregnated polyurethane foam, supplied in two-metre lengths, of 50mm square section.  Bolts are tightened until the gasket is compressed against the headwall, to a thickness of  approximately10mm.

Ends of a gasket should be cut to an angle of 30°, providing overlapping joints, which will come tightly together under compression.

Gasket material and adhesive are supplied with the installation kit.
